Fake Fiancee Ilsa MaddenMills Jack Greystone Hang Le Glenn Mackay Books Reviews
Rating 3.5 Stars
This book started with BANG! and I was instantly hooked.
Sunny had recently ended a relationship and was swearing off men, especially jocks. Max was also currently out of the dating games, as he was still smarting from his breakup from his deceptive girlfriend. In an effort to fend off his groupies, and rehab his image in his bid for the Heisman trophy, he proposed that he and Sunny embark on a fake relationship for PR purposes only.
Her mouth opened. "Fake fiancee? Falling in love? What is this...a Hallmark movie?"
"We could be the best damn Hallmark movie ever made, Sunny." My voice was dead serious.
(By the way, I love Hallmark movies.)
Well, it did not take long for those lines to blur. Max instantly felt something, a pull of sorts towards Sunny. He didn't know why, but there was a string drawing him to her. This books starts out as a typical NA romance, fun and cute, and then veers into the land of soapy drama. I was not put off by the OTT stuff, because I was really invested in Sunny and Max. I wanted them to discover WHY they had this pull, and I was rooting for them to wade through all the drama and get to the part where they realized they belonged together.
"I believed the universe had pulled strings for us - but did he?"
I will admit, that I bumped my rating by half a star, because of the ending. First impressions? Pfft! I am all about last impressions, and this one had a strong ending that left my heart soaring.
Overall A fun read filled with laughs, sass, heart-eye inducing moments, swoon, and sizzle.
Fake Fiancée is my third book by the author and they all have been 5 stars for my. I’m officially a fan of the author.
I love it when people have a fake relationship at the beginning, but end up falling hard for each other once they really get to know each other. This is exactly what happened in this book. Sunny and Max are new neighbors. Sunny needs Max’ help one morning and he is happy to help her. Their paths cross multiple times and spend some time together.
I love Max, Sunny and their friends. Max is nice and caring. He’s extremely passionate about football and he’s talented. He wants to be a pro and would do anything for it. Sunny wants to help Max and she really likes him. She’s strong, caring, a little damaged and independent. She studies and works hard.
I didn’t want to put this book down once I started it. The prologue was so good and it had my attention. I needed to know what happens next. Max and Sunny don’t become a real couple fast, but there is an undeniable attraction between them from the start. I was rooting for them to be really together. They are a beautiful, strong, supportive and solid couple.
As we all know there are thousands of romance novels based upon the theme of a fake engagement that leads to true love and the fairytale happily ever after. Readers are suckers for these kind of romances. With so many books on the market with this theme many could say it's unoriginal and predictable. That may be true but what makes each of these new books stand out and hook the reader completely is the delivery of the story, the characters, and the circumstances of their fake engagement. The author has to dig deeper and become even more creative to make their book a success among the reading population. The author has to make their characters larger than life as well as making them ordinary people with extraordinary circumstances so readers can easily relate to them. Then the author has to add the meat of the story and make it very convincing. The author also has to add the charm and magical qualities of true romance. Ilsa Madden-Mills has found her magic formula and delivered an utterly charming and convincing romance that will leave the readers lining up for invitations to Max and Sunny's wedding. Fake Fiancee by Ilsa Madden Mills is a modern day fairytale romance.
Max Kent is the star quarterback at Leland. It's his senior year and he's in the running for the Heisman Trophy. Winning the Heisman Trophy is something his father, a former football star turned professional sports anchor, did not achieve in his illustrious football career. Max has lived in his father's shadow and also suffered from his father's fame all his life. His talent on the field is undeniable but his volatile reputation could stand in the way of winning the trophy. His toxic relationship with his former girlfriend and his fights with the second string quarterback were all over social media last year. His senior year will be the defining factor in winning the trophy. He has to lay low, play well, and keep out of the social media gossip. When he meets his neighbor Sunny Blaine, she presents the perfect solution to his senior year. She's the ticket to winning the Heisman Trophy. He is going to convince her to become his fake girlfriend until the football season is over. It will benefit them both. It's also easy being around Sunny. She's a real girl who doesn't let others dictate her life. She's smart, sassy, and fun to be around. She's truly someone he could fall in love with.
Sunny Blaine is dreading her senior year. After a harsh breakup that ended without real closure, she's dreading going to class. Her ex boyfriend is in quite a few of her classes. Their relationship never had real closure and left her wallowing in hurt from his deceptions. When Max offers her a solution to keeping her pride intact, she reluctantly agrees with his plan.
Max and Sunny had an instant connection the moment they met. They developed a strong friendship that led to love. With the end of the season approaching they will have to decide if they want to end their deceptions or grab onto something that is greater than winning any kind of award. Fate put them in each other's paths. Fate had plans for them all along. Who are they to defy fate.
I absolutely loved this book. Fake Fiancee was heart-warming, charming, and entertaining. Ilsa Madden Mills has created a fairytale romance!
Max Kent is a hero. Max Kent is a savior. Max Kent is a bit of a douchebag. But even when he's at his worst he's kind of sweet as well making it impossible not to like him.
Sunny Blaine is my kind of girl - she's strong and independent and definitely not afraid to stand up to the Viking Quarterback.
Ilsa Madden-Mills hooked me with her English series and with this new release from her it's line and sinker - her writing is eminent and her characters leave me with a smile on my face...and who can ask for more than that.
I love kindred souls books, but throw in a bad boy, sports figure who is hot, and I am over the moon. Loved it.
