Let me preface this by saying that so far, I have a very hard time believing that Guy was the leader of the team. He was the highest-ranking officer in the group, and I've yet to figure out how that happened. Considering we don't really know their ages and are led to believe that they all finished college together, I'm very curious as to how Guy, with his irreverence and dislike of following procedure, could have risen to the rank of Lt. Colonel while his buddies were Majors. I just would have liked some explanation of this, especially since Guy often comes across as a petulant, immature, overgrown frat boy. Enter Julia Beckham. Feeling a bit low on herself in the sexual arena, she's ready for a bad boy to teach her the delights of the bedroom. Guy McCann is her man, easily. I like how she buffered him and tempered him a bit. I was happily surprised when, as the story went on, Guy seemed to grow up a bit with her. He became more likable and romantic, even though he tries fiercely to avoid that. Like another reviewer said, I was disappointed to miss the whole "trust building" class with the new team. In the other books, the storyline dealt heavily with why the Colonel had brought the guys in. Yet with Guy, it's glossed over and implied that everything was hunky-dory, regardless of the fact that we never see his "legendary" skills on the page. I felt a bit robbed of this. The upside is a nice, quirky ending done in a way I never saw coming and a good wrap-up of all the guys - Jamie, Payne and Guy - showing they're settled and happy.

I purchased the Player and was hooked. I purchased the Specialist and the Maverick and couldn't put any of the books down until I was done. I purchased a few more of her books after. Rhonda Nelson is now on my fav list of authors!!!!!
Another Rhonda Nelson X rated novel. Fun, but again get the fan out as it is one smokin' book to read!
SIZZELS and the story line is tied together so well and the charicters come to life with their struggles and their trimuphs
My wife buys a lot of books through the internet. I order them for her. We like as we can usually find any book we are looking for and get it quickly and at a very good price. The quality has always been as described and we have always been satisfied just as we are with this one.
Now I realized why I like these books,they were written in the yr 2006.Times have changed even in 8 yrs.This series was easy reading ,romantic .sexy funny at times and no intense stress just a good read and happy endings ,just what I love to read.
Very cute story. Kind of skimmed the top of everything and everyone but the characters were cool I expect that Payne and Jamie have their own books.
I am loving this series! The characters, especially the sexy men, are addicting. They pull at your heart strings and your hormones. Rhonda Nelson really creates characters well and the plot lines have just enough suspense to keep you guessing.

Overall, I suggest reading this book, after you have read the first two books in the series. (1. The Player (Harlequin Blaze) and 2. The Specialist (Harlequin Blaze)) However, They are romance novels with detailed sex scenes and semi-predictable plots. I happen to enjoy those kinds of books while on car trips or at the beach, so I loved it. However, if you don't enjoy those books or are offended by sex scenes, don't bother.
